India's star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has responded to Nathan Lyon's praise for him and has said that he is eager to meet the Australian bowler, inviting him with a heartfelt post.

Ashwin took to social media and invited Lyon, saying that he was open to meeting up in India or Australia in a classic Test fashion.

Notably, Lyon had lauded Ashwin ahead of Australia's first Test match against Pakistan as he said that he has learned a lot from India's veteran spinner and they both can have a nice chat once their respective careers end.

"I’m sure the competition to pick the best venue for this catch-up will be strong, but we both have a few good years left in us yet @ashwinravi99," Lyon had mentioned.

Lyon went on to mention the possibility of a final face-off between both the star spinners before they decided to call off on their career.

"We can do a home and away for the catch up too.

Sydney - your choice
Chennai - Soup with Muthu and chaat at OSB ( West Mambalam ).

Go well tomorrow and see u soon," Ashwin wrote on X.

Both Lyon and Ashwin have been modern greats of the game, and have been so consistent and key performers for their respective national teams in the era of T20 cricket.

Lyon has multiple times mentioned his learnings from the Indian off-spinner while watching him bowl and through the conversations, both have had throughout their careers.

"You look at Ashwin, he's a world-class bowler and somebody I've watched closely from the start of his career. We've gone head-to-head many times in different conditions around the world. I've got nothing but respect for Ashwin and the way he's gone about it," Lyon said ahead of Australia's first Test against Pakistan.
