Yash Dayal, the star RCB pacer has been banned by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) from featuring in the UP T20 League. The decision has been taken amid the ongoing controversy involving Dayal amid the sexual harassment allegations. The left-arm fast bowler is also facing the rape charges in Ghaziabad and Jaipur.

Dayal was set to play for Gorakhpur Lions in the upcoming edition of the UP T20 League as he was purchased for INR 7 lakh by the franchise. He has been in remarkable form lately and is one of the rising and promising fast bowlers in the country, having helped the Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinch their maiden IPL title a few months back.

The 27-year-old is facing sexual exploitation charges in Ghaziabad under the false hope of marriage and has also been given protection from arrest by the Allahabad High Court. However,the Jaipur High Court has refused to grant him protection from arrest, due to the involvement of a minor in the case.The star cricketer could find himself in the middle of a major setback with the possibility of getting arrested, as his next hearing is set to take place on August 22.

Talking about the Jaipur case, the RCB star was accused by the minor victim of repeatedly raping her for over two years. He also allegedly emotionally blackmailed her with promises of a cricketing career. According to police, Dayal raped the minor for two years, starting when she was just 17. She said he called her to a hotel during an IPL match in Jaipur on the pretext of providing cricketing advice, and then assaulted her.

Dayal could be sentenced to a minimum jail term of 10 years if found guilty. "It is alleged that around two years ago, when the complainant was a minor, he raped her on multiple occasions after offering to help build her cricket career. This year, he contacted her again when he was in Jaipur on IPL duty, called her to his hotel, and allegedly raped her there,” SHO Anil Kumar Jaiman of Sanganer Sadar police station had said about the recent case.
