Mallorca vs Barcelona Match Result: Lamine Yamal produced an incredible effort as Barcelona began their La Liga title defence with a dominating 3-0 victory over RCD Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in the Balearic Islands, Spain, on Saturday.
Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal all got their names on the scoresheet to help the Hansi Flick and Co. kick off the new campaign in the best possible way. There were a lot of talking points in the match including a few decisions of the referee. Mallorca had two players, Manu Morlanes and Vedat Muriqi, sent off in the first half of the game.
Lamine has been Barcelona's consistent performer over the past few months and played a major role in their success last season, winning the domestic treble, including the La Liga title. The 18-year-old wonderkid has picked up from where he left off in the last season, as he came up with a magnificent moment to entertain the away Barca fans.

Barca had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half and couldn't extend their lead in the second despite multiple chances. However, it was Lamine who stepped up once again as he cut inside after the move he created for himself. He went sideways and passed through a few defenders before unleashing a brilliant shot that ended up in the top corner. The goal sealed the deal for the visitors in the stoppage time.

The goal and the whole performance on Saturday was a special one for both Lamine and Barcelona, as it was the first official appearance for the young forward after taking over the famous No.10 jersey, which was once worn by Lionel Messi during his legendary stay at the club.
Lamine's effort to give Barcelona a third goal was a bit similar to how Messi used to operate near the opponent's penalty box from the left side.
"I told Lamine Yamal to help the team. He's a special player and everyone in the world is watching him. From what I see in training, he is motivated, and in matches, he plays, fights, and defends. I am happy for him," Barca manager Hansi Flick said about Yamal.
