RCB vs CSK, IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru rose from the ashes this season as they qualified for the playoffs on Saturday. The match which went beyond midnight where RCB held their nerves against the reigning champions and won the match. RCB beat CSK by 27 runs to become the fourth and the last team to qualify for the playoffs.
As RCB won the last-ball thriller against the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side, Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma were seen getting emotional. The couple broke into tears and the heartfelt moment captured on camera left the RCB fans emotional too. The Faf Du Plessis-led side hasn’t won a single IPL title yet despite playing in the summit clash thrice.

While batting first, the Faf Du Plessis-led side posted a mammoth target of 218 runs in their must-win IPL 2024 clash against CSK.
Faf Du Plessis (54) and Virat Kohli (47) stitched a partnership of 78 runs for the first wicket in 9.4 overs in the rain-induced match, which was stopped after the third over.
Rajat Patidar, who came into bat at the no.3 position, scored a gritty knock of 41 runs off 23 balls and built a partnership of 71 runs with Cameron Green for the second wicket and kept the scoring rate going up.

Dinesh Karthik (14) and Glenn Maxwell (16) also made significant contributions with the bats to help their team post a respectable target.
To qualify for the playoffs, CSK needed just 201 runs, since they had a better NRR than RCB, but they lost the match as they could only score 191 runs.
Opener Rachin Ravindra scored 61 runs off 37 balls whereas Ravindra Jadeja and Rahane scored 42 and 33 runs each.
At the end of the innings, former CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who might have played his last IPL match, scored 25 runs off 13 balls. But his efforts were in vain as he couldn’t lead the team across the line. Yash Dayal held his nerves in the last over and registered figures of 2/42.
