UP T20 2025: Kashi Rudra skipper Shubham Chaubey won the toss and chose to bat first. Kartik Tyagi took two wickets with the new ball and dismissed batters like Abhishek Goswami and Uvais Ahmed. Bhavy Goyal was seen struggling as Yash Garg took his wicket. Yashivardhan Singh was the new batter, who had a hard time smashing fours, whereas Karan Sharma anchored the innings till the end. Vishal Chaudhary then dismissed Yashovardhan after scoring 11 runs off 14 balls.

Captain Chaubey scored a gritty knock of 29 runs off 19 balls, and Karan brought up his fifty off 40 balls. Tyagi then took the wicket of Chaubey during the 18th over. During the 19th over, Vijay Kumar then took the wicket of Karan and Rishabh Rajput. Karan had scored a gritty knock of 61 runs off 50 balls, in which he had smashed five fours and one six. During the last over, Shiva Singh had smashed a six and then was dismissed by Tyagi on the last ball. Kashi Rudras posted a below-par target of 135 runs.

Early wickets fall in the Mavericks’ run chase

While chasing, Meerut Mavericks' top-order batters collapsed. Sunil Kumar first dismissed Swastik Chikara for a duck. Atal Bihari Rai then gave away 11 runs during his first over and then dismissed Akash Dubey. During the sixth over, Rituraj Sharma was dismissed by Rajout after scoring 19 runs off 15 balls. Meerut Mavericks were reeling at 31/3 post power play.

Rinku starts slow but finishes with a bang

It took some time for Rinku to settle in during the middle overs as Madhav Kaushik smashed boundaries from the other end. He had scored 17 runs off 28 balls. And then during the 13th over, he smashed his first six. And then he went all guns blazing. During the 15th over, he had smashed Shiva for two sixes and one four. He brought up his fifty off 42 balls. During the 16th over, Rinku had smashed Rai for one four and three sixes and took the team across the line. He had scored an unbeaten knock of 78 runs off 48 balls, in which he had smashed six fours and six sixes. At the same time, Kaushik scored an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 20 balls and stitched a 113-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Rinku finds form leading up to the Asia Cup

Before the upcoming continental tournament, Rinku has been in sublime form. He has scored 295 runs after seven innings during the ongoing tournament, which includes one hundred and two half-centuries. He had batted at a staggering strike rate of 170.52 and is one of the highest run-scorers this year.
