Asia cup 2025, 9 days to Go: The clashes between arch-rivals India and Pakistan are nothing less than a smit clash. Both teams are under immense pressure. They will next face each other on 14th September during the Asia Cup 2025, and that too in the shortest format.

Both teams have faced each other 18 times in this continental tournament, where the Men in Blue have an upper edge as they have won 10 matches and Pakistan have won eight.

Last ODI match: India's brilliant victory

During the 2023 Asia Cup, which was held in the 50-over format, the Men in Blue had beaten Pakistan by a huge margin of 228 runs. They had posted a mammoth target of 356 runs. While chasing, Pakistan were skittled out for just 128 runs. India's star batter Virat Kohli scored a match-winning knock of 122 runs, and Kuldeep Yadav took a five-wicket haul.

T20 format: Pakistan's attempt to take revenge

The last time these two teams played against each other in the shortest format of the Asia Cup was way back in 2022. The Babar Azam-led side had beaten India by five wickets during the Super 4 stage. The Men in Green chased down the target of 182 runs during the last over. Virat Kohli had scored a gritty knock of 60 runs, but Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz took the team across the line.

Head-to-head records: India dominates

Both teams have faced each other 13 times in the shortest format, where India has won nine matches and the Men in Green have won just three, and one match ended in a draw. The Men in Blue have also performed better in the 50-over format, where they have won eight matches of 15 that they have played, and Pakistan have won just seven.
