IPL 2025: India's star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, who is also the highest run-scorer for Delhi Capitals in the history of IPL, might leave the team ahead of the mega-auction, which will be held next year and might join the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings. As per a report by Dainik Jagran, DC is not satisfied with the way Pant led the side this year and is contemplating whether they should retain him or not.

Speculations are rife that the team could also trade him but ex-Indian cricketer and DC's Director of cricket Sourav Ganguly wants Pant to stay as the skipper. If he is released, then the youngster, who featured in all matches of India at the recently concluded 2024 T20 World Cup as the No.3 batter might join CSK.

As per a CSK official, they are searching for a top wicket-keeper batter, who could replace MS Dhoni if he decides to call it quits on his IPL career. MS Dhoni has played the most number of IPL matches in the history of the tournament and chances are high that he might not play in the next season.

As per the same report, KL Rahul might also end his stint as the LSG skipper. LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka lost his cool at KL Rahul after they lost their IPL 2024 group stage match to SRH and the whole incident was recorded on camera. LSG bought KL Rahul for a whopping amount of Rs 17 crore at the 2022 IPL mega auction. It is speculated that KL Rahul might once again join RCB.

The Faf Du Plessis-led side qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2024. But, now the franchise wants to appoint an Indian skipper and if they buy Rahul at the mega-auction, then he could be seen leading the team from the front in the next season.
