Rishabh Pant IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Rishabh Pant ended his nine-year-long memorable stay at Delhi Capitals as he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025 mega auction on Sunday.
Pant, who was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega auction in Jeddah, became the most expensive player in the history of IPL. He was bought by LSG for a record price of INR 27 crore.
As India's star wicketkeeper-batter Pant gears up for a new journey in the IPL, he came up with a heart-warming gesture for his former team Delhi Capitals.
Sharing a note on Tuesday, Pant said goodbye to the DC franchise while recalling how he joined them as a teenager and grew together over the last nine years.
"The journey with Delhi Capitals has been nothing short of amazing. From the thrills on the field to the moments off it. I've grown in ways I never imagined. I came here as a teenager and we grew together over the last nine years," Pant wrote in the special note.

Notably, Pant impressed everyone with his attacking style of play during his time in the Under-19 World Cup 2016.
He then joined Delhi the same year and went on to make an instant impact.
Having played 111 IPL career matches so far, Pant is the leading run-getter for Delhi Capitals in tournament history. He has scored 3248 runs at an average of 35.31
"What made this journey all worthwhile is you. The fans...You've embraced me, cheered for me and stood by me in one of the toughest phases of my life.
As I move on, I carry your love and support in my heart. I'll look forward to entertain you whenever I take the field. Thank you for being my family and making this journey so special," Pant concluded.
Pant also captained Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, 2022 and 2024 seasons. Under his captaincy, DC finished sixth last year with seven wins and as many defeats.
