Rohit Sharma, India's veteran batter, is out of any cricketing action these days and spending time with his family in Mumbai. He was last seen playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025.
Rohit, who is still India's ODI captain, led India to two ICC titles over the past few months. Having retired from both Tests and T20Is, Rohit only remains an active ODI cricketer and has been preparing hard to make his return to the format.

Notably, Rohit fans chant "Mumbai cha Raja Rohit Sharma" to acknowledge his legacy and stardom, but in the latest clip, Rohit can be seen asking them not to do so.
Rohit, who has more than 11,000 runs to his name in ODI cricket, was last seen in action for Team India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which was played against New Zealand in Dubai on March 9, 2025. In that fixture, Rohit was the top run-getter for the Men in Blue and helped them win the Champions Trophy title for the third time.
The 38-year-old has set his eyes on the ODI World Cup 2027. Team India will travel to Australia next month to take part in a three-match ODI and five-match T20I series. The ODI series will start on October 19 at Optus Stadium in Perth, and the next two 50-over matches are scheduled to take place in Adelaide (October 23) and Sydney (October 25).
The right-handed batter Rohit has played a total of 499 international matches for India across formats in the last 18 years, and if he manages to play at least one match in the away series against Australia, then he will become the fifth Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar (664), Virat Kohli (550), MS Dhoni (535) and Rahul Dravid (504) to represent the country in at least 500 matches.
