RCB vs CSK IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru's star batter Virat Kohli has become the first batter to have smashed 300 sixes for a franchise in the shortest format. He smashed two sixes during their IPL 2025 clash against CSK during Khaleel Ahmed's third over in Bengaluru.

Kohli had smashed the first six by playing a pull shot, which he mistimed but the top edge took the ball towards deep fine leg and helped him achieve the milestone of hitting 300 sixes. And he then smashed another six, which was his 301st for the Bengaluru-based franchise, was yet another breath-taking shot as he timed the flick shot of a half-volley and the ball went towards the deep square leg fence.

At the same time, Kohli has smashed 429 sixes in T20s and is lying at the 20th position. Chris Gayle is currently sitting at the top position as he had smashed 1056 sixes. No other batter had smashed more than 300 sixes for one team.

Gayle is the second best besides Kohli in this list as he had smashed 263 sixes for the Bengaluru-based franchise . Apart from them Rohit Sharma and Kierron Pollar had smashed 262 and 258 sixes. MS Dhoni is another batter to have smashed 257 sixes fir CSK.

Kohli’s 2nd six seals another big record

His second six didn't go in vain. This was his 152nd six at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, which was the most for any batter in this format at a single venue.

Kohli surpassed Chris Gayle's tally of hitting 151 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. He had smashed 138 sixes at Mirpur in Bangladesh and besides him Alex Hales had smashed 135 sixes at Trent Bridge and Rohit Sharma had smashed 122 sixes at the Wankhede stadium.

Kohli was able to break this records due to his passion for RCB. He is the only player in this tournament to have played for just one franchise.

“This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me," Kohli was heard as saying in a video shared by RCB, where he revealed that he would be resigning from his position of captaincy in 2021.
