RR vs PBKS IPL 2025: Nehal Wadhera's belligerent 70 and the middle-order's superlative batting display, followed by Harpreet Brar's magical spin craft took Punjab Kings (PBKS) one step closer to playoff spot with a 10-run win over Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.

With the win, Punjab Kings registered their eighth win of the season and climbed up to the second spot. In a compelling match, a total of 428 runs were scored across both innings, and only 10 runs separated both teams in the chase of 220. 

Meanwhile, this also marked the tenth defeat in this season for the Rajasthan Royals off 13 games played.

With nothing to lose, the Royals' openers wasted no time in making their intentions clear as they got off to a rollicking start.

RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (50) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (40) gave the home side a fiery start, scoring 76 runs in 4.5 overs.

But once Suryavanshi was dismissed by Brar (3/22) in the fifth over, wickets started tumbling at regular intervals and RR could managed 209 for 7 in the end. Dhruv Jurel (53 off 31 balls) was the highest run-getter for RR.

PBKS pacer Azmatullah Omarzai (2/44) too played his part in the win, taking the wickets of the dangerous Shimron Hetmyer (11) and captain Sanju Samson (20).

Earlier, thanks to Wadhera's 37-ball 70, Shashank's unbeaten 59 and a valuable 30 by skipper Shreyas Iyer, PBKS scored a competitive 219 for 5.
