Ruturaj Gaikwad News: India middle-order batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has withdrawn his name from the final part of the County Championship with Yorkshire due to personal reasons.

Earlier, the right-handed batter agreed to play five games for Yorkshire and was scheduled to start his stint with the match against reigning champions Surrey at Scarborough from July 22.

But on Saturday, Yorkshire announced in a statement that Gaikwad would not be available.

With a crucial match looming, Yorkshire head coach Anthony McGrath said the team is considering their options for a replacement, but the focus is currently on overcoming the 10th round clash.

"Unfortunately Gaikwad's not coming now for personal reasons. We're not going to have him for Scarborough or for the rest of the season. So that's disappointing. I can't tell you anything about the reasons why, but we hope that everything's ok. We've literally just found out," said McGrath in an official statement.

"We're working behind the scenes on what we can do. But it's only two or three days away, so I'm not sure what we can do at the moment. We're working to try and get a possible replacement, but time pressure is the issue. I can't give you anything more than that at the moment," he added.

Gaikwad was scheduled to make a debut at North Marine Road on Tuesday, with plans for him to stay with the team through the end of the season.

When the Indian batter was signed by the club in June, he enthusiastically expressed his desire to join the historic English county club.

"I'm excited to be joining up with Yorkshire for the rest of the English domestic season. It has always been a goal of mine to experience cricket in this country and there is no bigger Club in England than Yorkshire," he had stated.
