BCCI posted a video on the official social media account where the star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav was seen saying 'Hi guys, Welcome to South Africa."

They captioned the video: "South Africa Bound. #TeamIndia are here. #SAvIND."

India and South Africa will face off in a three-match T2I series followed by as many ODI matches before playing a two-match Test series as well.

The Men in Blue last toured South Africa in 2021-22 and ended up losing the Test series by 2-1 and suffered a disappointing 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series.

India had a memorable tour in the 2017-18 season when they defeated South Africa 5-1 in the ODI series and also clinched the T20I series by 2-1.

They lost the Test series then as well and haven't won one on South African soil which they will be aiming to change this time around.

Both the teams will first face off in the T20I series which will commence on Sunday, December 10 and will run till Thursday, December 14.

The ODI series will take place from Sunday, December 17 to Thursday, December 21 before the Test series begins on Tuesday, December 26.

India have named three different captains across formats for the South Africa tour as they mainly prioritise the preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup which is scheduled to take place in June next year.

The No.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav, who recently led India to a series victory against Australia at home, will again be leading the T20I side.

KL Rahul has been named the captain of the ODI team whereas Rohit Sharma, who has been rested for the white-ball leg along with the star batter Virat Kohli, will return to lead the team in the two-match Test series.
