Ind vs Ban Warm-Up Match: Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan has heaped praises on Indian skipper Rohit Sharma before their 2024 T20 World Cup warm-up match against India. Both teams will face each other in a warm-up match on June 1, Saturday, in New York. Shakib praised Rohit Sharma for the way he had led the team for the last few years. He also admitted that they respect the Indian captain a lot and the way he snatches the game away from the opponents single-handedly.
“I think the way he led India in the last few years was terrific. He has a tremendous record as a captain. I think all the players respect him as a leader of the team. He’s someone who can take the game away from the opponent single-handedly,” Shakib was quoted as saying on Star Sports.

Rohit has a brilliant record against the Bangla Tigers in both ODIs and T20Is. He has scored 454 runs after playing in 12 T20Is against Bangladesh at an average of 37.13 and a strike rate of 141.13, which also includes five half-centuries. At the same time, he has scored 786 runs after playing in 17 ODIs at an average of 56.14 and a strike rate of 92.27, which includes three centuries and as many half-centuries.

The Indian skipper scored two important hundreds against Bangladesh during the 2015 ODI World Quarterfinal and the 2017 Champions Trophy Semifinal. He will aim to continue with this form in the warm-up game and begin their campaign at the mega-event on a high note.
Rohit and Shakib’s unique T20 World Cup feat
Both Rohit and Shakib are the only players who have played in all the editions of the T20 World Cup. Shakib has taken the most wickets in the history of the tournament as he has taken 47 wickets after playing in 35 T20I matches at an average of 18.63 and an economy of 6.78. At the same time, Rohit is the fourth-highest run-getter as he has scored 963 runs after playing in 36 T20I matches at an average of 34.39 and a strike rate of 127.88
