IND vs BAN: India's star batter Shubman Gill is gearing up for the upcoming Test season as he was spotted working hard in a gym. A video of the same went viral, where Gill was seen working hard in the gym as he was involved in a hard-core workout. His main aim is to be fully fit ahead of the hectic Test season, in which the Men in Blue will be playing 10 Test matches this year. His workout session was a mixture of both cardio and weightlifting drills and was looking all pumped up in these sessions. He will face a daunting task in this busy Test season as there are high chances that he will come into bat at the No.3 position.
Gill, who is considered one of the future stars of Indian cricket in all formats, talked about how he hasn't met his expectations completely. He made his debut in the longest format in the December 2020 Border-Gavaskar series. He has batted at an average of 35.52 and has smashed four centuries and six half-centuries after playing in 25 Test matches.
"Yes, I've not been up to my expectations ([n Test cricket]. But we have ten Tests coming up together. Hopefully, after these ten Tests end, I'd be up to my expectations or more," Gill was quoted as saying to PTI.

Shubman Gill at No.3?
The youngster began his international career as an opener but now usually comes into bat at the No.3 position just like former head coach Rahul Dravid and veteran Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara. Although he was initially seen struggling in the five-match Test series against England, held in January-February this year, he bounced back and smashed two centuries and was also the second-highest run-scorer as he had scored 452 runs after playing in five matches.
Before that series, questions were raised as to whether Gill, who started as an opener, could adjust to this new position. Eventually, he did prove his naysayers wrong by batting brilliantly at the No.3 position. But he would face the real test in the five-match Test series against Australia. He will try to put out his best form which will be visible in the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand respectively.
