SA vs PAK 1st Test: Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam has also jumped on the bandwagon of players trying to turn the tide of the match in their favor by using the bail-switch trick. This incident happened in the series opener against South Africa in Centurion as Babar Azam was seen trying this trick on the second day.
It was ex-England fast bowler Stuart Broad, who started this bail-switching trend and it has now become a hilarious part of the longest format. Borad's unique ritual was about changing the bails so as to put a break on the partnership or try to turn the tide of the match in their favor. In the last few years, a lot of cricketers have begun using this trend and have added their own versions.

Recently, it was Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who used this trick in the ongoing Test series against Australia. The incident happened during the third Test at the Gabba, Siraj was seen changing the bails, whereas Australia's star batter Marnus Labuschagne was looking in sublime form. He was also seen using this trick during the Boxing Day Test match as well and during the next over as well, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Usman Khawaja.

During the second day of the first Test against South Africa, Babar Azam was seen using this trick despite inching closer towards Pakistan's below-par first innings total of 201 runs. Since South Africa already had an upper edge, Babar was seen changing the bails, so as to turn the tide of the match in their favor. Although it didn't help them instantly it brought moments of joy to otherwise tricky pitch conditions.
South Africa has an upper edge on the first two days, on the back of Dane Paterson's five-for and Corbin Bosch, who made his international Test debut and took four wickets. Although Kamran Ghulam scored a gritty knock of 51 runs, his efforts went in vain as the Men in Green suffered a batting collapse. Aiden Markram took advantage of the home conditions and thus scored a fifty and played a huge role in helping the team's scorecard of 150 runs.
Although this bail-switching trick might or might not have brought out the desired results it does show the funny side of an otherwise competitive sport. Ever since the trend has been gaining views, it shows the human nature of the sport and thus tells both the fans and the players that this sport isn't just about numbers but also does taking care of your loved ones.
