S Sreesanth's ongoing spat with the former India teammate Gautam Gambhir took a worse turn when the pace bowler commented on the latter’s Instagram post, calling the batter “an arrogant and utterly classless individual.”
Both the players were involved in a heated altercation after which Sreesanth opened up on what was said from both sides during the Legends League Cricket 2023 match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants.
Sreesanth posted a video where he explained the whole instance and this was followed by Gambhir posting a cryptic post on Instagram.

He posted a picture of him smiling in an Indian jersey with the caption, “Smile when the world is all about attention!” which was a veiled dig at the situation with Sreesanth.
Under the post, Sreesanth commented, "You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labeled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please. You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you."
"Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family. However, you used the derogatory term “fixer” not just once, but seven or eight times. You even resorted to using the F-word towards the umpires and myself, persistently trying to provoke me. Anyone who has experienced what I have endured would never forgive you. Deep down, you know that what you said and did was wrong. I’m sure even God won't forgive you. You didn’t even come to the field after that. Come on, God is watching everything," the 40-year-old said.
On an interesting note, former Indian bowler Irfan Pathan also replied to Gambhir’s post with a curt, “Best answer” comment.
In another video posted on Instagram, Sreesanth opened up on the exact words he received from Gambhir during their angry exchange during the match.
"Fixer, fixer, you’re a fixer… you f**k off, fixer. He kept saying that,” revealed Sreesanth in an Instagram live video on his handle. “He kept on calling me that, on live television in the center of the wicket. This is the language he used on live TV. He also told the same thing in front of umpires as they tried to control him," Sreesanth revealed.
"I did not say a single bad word or an abusive word at him. I only kept saying ‘What are you saying?’ Then I laughed in a sarcastic way," he added.
The pace bowler tried to add fuel to the fire with his new story on social media involving Gautam Gambhir.

Sreesanth, whose team Gujarat Giants had already exited the tournament after a defeat against India Capitals, shared a video of Gambhir's run-out as a moment to rejoice about his dismissal.
He acknowledged the fielder's excellent play by tagging him in his celebratory Instagram story.
