SRH vs PBKS Toss Update, IPL 2024: Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first in match 69 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, May 19.
Jitesh Sharma is captaining the Punjab Kings for the first time as he took over the role of the stand-in skipper from Sam Curran who went back to England for national duty.
Punjab's regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan is still out with injury, having played his last match for the team against SRH on April 9.

Rilee Rossouw is the only overseas player named in Punjab Kings' starting XI as their key players like Curran, Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada have headed back home.
They are already out of the competition and will be looking to end the campaign on a high.
"We would like to bat. I think the wicket is looking good, we want to score big and put SRH under pressure. Proud and grateful to captain my side today. We have few options because all the overseas have gone. Only Rilee Rossouw is gonna play. We have exciting talent waiting for their opportunity and they are gonna give their best today. Nothing to lose today, we are here to play some good cricket," Punjab's stand-in captain said at the toss.
On the other hand, the match is a crucial one for the home side Sunrisers Hyderabad as they will be looking to finish the league stage in the second spot and play the first qualifier in the playoffs.
They currently are placed third in the points table and a win will take them to the second spot and all the dependency will shift to the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders later in the day.
The hosts came up with just one change with Rahul Tripathi making his way back into the side as confirmed by skipper Pat Cummins.
"The fans have been awesome this season here. We are pretty well set up for both (bat first or ball first. I'm a terrible reader of wickets, looks like a nice wicket. Looks dry and firm. Only one change for us. Rahul Tripathi comes in for a bowler," Cummins said at the toss.
