SL vs AFG Asia Cup 2025: Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by six wickets during their last Asia Cup group stage match and have qualified for the Super 4 stage on Thursday. Sri Lanka's star opener Kusal Mendis scored an unbeaten knock of 74 runs off 52 balls and helped the team beat Afghanistan by six wickets in their last group stage match, and have reached the Super 4 stage along with Bangladesh.

Afghanistan has been knocked out after losing this match.

While batting first, Afghanistan, on the back of Mohammad Nabi's brilliant knock of 60 runs off 22 balls, helped the team post a respectable target of 169 runs. Then, Mendis took Sri Lanka across the line and chased the target of 170 runs with eight balls remaining.

The Afghanistan bowlers did take wickets and gave Sri Lanka a hard time chasing this target, but Mendis, along with Perera and Kamindu, had other plans. During the first innings, Nuwan Thushara was the pick among the Sri Lanka bowlers as he registered figures of 4 /18.
