Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar received a standing ovation after he was awarded the CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award at the BCCI Naman Awards. The CK Nayudu is BCCI's one of the topmost sporting awards and is awarded to one of the best cricketers. It was coined after India's first Test skipper CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award was first won by Lala Amarnath in 1994. Legendary Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Bishan Singh Bedi, Gundappa Vishwanath, Ajit Wadekar, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Dilip Vengsarkar have won this award. It was Ravi Shastri and Farokh Engineer, who were given this award by the BCCI in 2024.

At the same time, Sachin Tendulkar was seen taking the BCCI for giving him this award. "Thank you all for coming. I am thankful to the BCCI, I can't thank them enough. They have always been supportive. Truly humbled to have my name in the list of awardees," he said.

He also gave unsolicited advice to all the young Indian cricketers and said, "Without cricket, all of us wouldn't be sitting in this room. See for me it has been the ultimate gift of my life. We have a bat and ball and if there is no solid grip over that you start losing grip over the bat and ball. Kind of slowly start losing grip over your career also."

I should not be giving you advice and stay focused, but there will be distractions. Don't let them disrupt your career. Value everything that we have and look after your game. It is about how we all managed when we did not have anything. It is important to value when we have everything and behave appropriately to take the game forward and the country's name. You all are current cricketers. There is plenty of cricket left in you go out give your best and make the most of this opportunity because you'll only realize once you've stopped playing cricket where you were a few years ago," he concluded.

Tendulkar is considered as one of the greatest cricketers. In his playing days, he broke a lot of records. He had represented the country in 200 Tests, smashed 50 centuries, and scored 15921 under his kitty. After playing in 463 ODIs, he had scored 18426 runs, which also 49 centuries. He is still the highest scorer in Tests and ODIs and is the only player to have smashed 100 centuries. He won the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna in 2013. He is the only sportsperson to have received this award. He announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in 2013 against West Indies.
