IND vs USA, 2024 T20 World Cup: The dismantling process of the Nassau County International cricket stadium began after the match between India and the USA. This stadium was a temporary venue for the ongoing tournament. The ICC chose this venue way back in September last year.
Due to the shortage of time, the ICC decided to use drop-in pitches, which are being used by Adelaide Turf International. In December last year, the trays were sent to Florida instead of New York due to warm weather. In April this year, the pitches were brought to New York.
New York giving batters nightmares
On Wednesday, the Rohit Sharma-led side thrashed the USA by seven wickets in the last match held at this venue before the dismantling began. The pitches in New York weren’t batter-friendly due to the indifferent bounce which assisted the bowlers a lot.

The Men in Blue registered the highest successful run-chase in this stadium of 111 runs with 10 balls remaining. These pitches in New York were hugely criticised after South Africa skittled Sri Lanka out for 77 runs in their tournament opener, where the Proteas batters also found scoring runs hard.

The Babar Azam-led Pakistan couldn't chase the below-par target of 120 runs in the match against their arch-rivals India as Jasprit Bumrah rattled their batting lineup. And on the next day, Bangladesh failed to chase down the meagre target of 114 runs.
During the post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma revealed that the batters struggled to score runs in New York.
“Being in the Super Eight is a big relief — playing cricket here wasn't easy (as) it could have been anyone’s game. We had to stick through till the end in all three games. We will take a lot of confidence from these wins,” Rohit told reporters in the post-match press conference.
After playing three matches at the Nassau County International cricket stadium, the Indian team will now fly to Florida, where they will play their last group stage match against Canada on Saturday, June 15.
