T20 World Cup 2024: India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has joined the Men in Blue in New York, just before their warm-up match against Bangladesh for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Pandya, who didn’t fly with the first batch of the Indian team to the US, shared photos on his official Instagram account after joining the team.
Hardik will be making a comeback to the national side for the first time after getting injured in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He had slipped on his bowling mark and twisted his ankle in the World Cup match against Bangladesh. He didn’t play in the bilateral series against Australia, South Africa, and Afghanistan and just played in the recently concluded Indian Premier League. He will aim to bounce back with his form after having a forgetful campaign with the Mumbai Indians.

Pandya is the only one to have traveled alone. Players like Rinku Singh and Sanju Samson had also flown alone and have now joined the Rohit Sharma-led side in New York. The BCCI used this approach due to the different commitments made by the players for their IPL teams.
