T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 schedule: The thrilling group stage matches of the 2024 T20 World Cup is nearing its business end and now the momentum will shift to the Super 8 stage matches. It should be noted here that six teams have already qualified for this stage where the teams will be divided into two groups. The Men in Blue have been put in Group 1 along with Australia and Afghanistan till now. One spot is still up for grabs which will be occupied by whichever team finishes in the second position in Group D between Netherlands and Bangladesh.
At the same time, the second group has teams like the USA, West Indies, and South Africa. The last position will be taken by either Scotland or England. The Rohit Sharma-led side will face Afghanistan in their first Super 8 stage match on Thursday, June 20 in Barbados.
Afghanistan have had a dream run in the tournament till now as they have won three consecutive matches. They thrashed New Zealand by a huge margin of 84 runs, which played a huge role in them knocking out the Kiwis.

They will aim to continue with this momentum in the Super 8 stage as well and defeat India. The Rashid Khan-led side will aim to script history by defeating India for the first time, as they have lost seven of the eight T20I matches that they have played till now and one match also ended with no result. India will then face either Bangladesh or the Netherlands on June 22, Saturday in Antigua.

The Men in Blue will then lock horns with arch-nemesis Australia on June 24, Monday in St. Lucia. The Mitchell Marsh-led side has an upper edge as they defeated India in two consecutive ICC finals last year. But at the same time, India also has an upper edge in the shortest format as they have won 19 of the 31 matches that these teas have played whereas Australia has won just 11.
The Rohit Sharma-led side also has an upper edge in this tournament as they have won three of the five matches. They will aim to beat the Kangaroos take their sweet revenge and reach the semifinal, which will be held on June 27 in Guyana.
