India vs England, T20 World Cup 2024: India and England will face off in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 27.
There is rain threat looming over the all-important clash and the concerning weather situation in Guyana has shifted focus on ICC playing conditions.
Notably, there is a reserve day kept for the first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan in Trinidad but there is no such provision for the second one.
The reason for the India vs England semi-final not having a reserve day is the timing of both matches.

The first semi-final match is a day-night match (starts 8:30 PM local time, June 26) and the Inia vs England semi-final in Guyana is a day match (starts 10:30 am local time, June 27).
June 28 is the travel day for the two teams who will make it to the final which will be played in Barbados on June 29.
If the South Africa vs Afghanistan day-night match cannot be completed due to rain, it will be shifted to the reserve day on June 27.
But with June 28 being a travel day, the India vs England match on June 27 will have to be completed on the same day and for that case, the ICC has allocated extra hours for the semi-final.
As per Accuweather.com, the forecast for Thursday morning in Guyana has predicted an 88% chance of rain and an 18% chance of thunderstorms.
In case rain plays a spoilsport in the India vs England semi-final in Guyana, the match will have another 250 minutes, giving eight more hours for the game to finish.
However, if rain leads to the abandonment of the match despite all the arrangements then the team that finished highest in the Super 8 stage will qualify for the final.
If there is no result possible in both semifinals., then India and South Africa will make it to the final for having topped their Group 1 and Group 2 respectively.
India will be heading into the semi-final match on the back of a crucial victory for Australia in their final Super 8 match, defeating the 2021 champions by 24 runs in St Lucia.
The Men in Blue are still unbeaten in the tournament, having first topped Group A with victories over Ireland, Pakistan and the USA.
