T20 World Cup 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board has come out in support of Bangladesh's decision not to play their T20 World Cup matches in India, owing to security issues, and has informed the ICC about the same. The ICC board will be meeting on Wednesday to take a final decision on Bangladesh's participation in the mega event and whether they will come to India next month, as they will be playing their group stage matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.

But the Bangladesh Cricket Board, along with its government, is quite adamant about shifting its matches to Sri Lanka.

A day before the ICC meeting, the PCB had informed the global body and said that it backs BCB's decision owing to political tensions between the two countries and has sent a copy of the letter to all the board members, as per ESPNCricinfo.

Both the ICC and the BCB have discussed this issue multiple times, and that also includes meeting in Dhaka, but neither of them has changed their decision.

The ICC has told them that the mega event will be held according to the schedule, and the BCB is hell-bent on not playing their matches in India.

The PCB hasn't said anything official about the issue, but as per the board, the Bangladesh government had reached out to Pakistan for their support.

Pakistan will be playing their matches in Sri Lanka as per the hybrid model agreement with BCCI till next year.

This issue started after KKR had to let go of Bangladesh star fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman as the BCCI told them to do so owing to "recent developments all around".

The Bangladesh government had put a ban on IPL's broadcast, and the BCB then told ICC not to play World Cup matches in India.
