During the announcement of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 schedule on Tuesday, Suryakumar expressed his desire to play against Australia in the final held in Ahmedabad and lift the trophy.

On November 19, 2023, Australia broke millions of Indian hearts at the ODI World Cup 2023 final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Suryakumar has shown his desire to take revenge for India's loss in that ODI final.
