IND vs NAM T20 World Cup: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya revealed that he undergoes a relentless army-camp-style training regimen for the pursuit of excellence ahead of preparation for major tournaments.

The Indian all-rounder's disciplined strategy paid off handsomely as he spearheaded India's sweeping win over Namibia in the T20 World Cup, delivering a match-winning all-round performance.

"Body has been fantastic, it takes a lot of hard work, which I cherish. Playing for the country is the No. 1 priority. I do an army-like camp a month before the tournament," Pandya said after the match.

Pandya's blazing 52 off 28 balls and crucial 2 wickets showcased his extraordinary skill and physical training, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Pandya attributed his explosive performance to his rigorous World Cup preparation, emphasising his pride in his batting skills and describing it as "adding sugar to the cake".

"Just enjoying the sport, had a good couple of months to prepare. Touchwood, everything is going well. I've always taken pride as a batter. When it comes off, it adds more sugar to the cake," said Pandya.

He added that India boasts a well-balanced side with plenty of options across all departments.

"We have a lot of options, pacers and spin covered. Varun (Chakravarthy), Axar (Patel) and Kuldeep (Yadav) too. They've done a tremendous job," said the all-rounder.

The all-rounder expressed a desire for more batting-friendly, more balanced pitches that permit better stroke-making.

"Two back-to-back pitches haven't been batting-friendly; the wicket was holding a bit today. You just adapt and let your skill set work. We'd like a little more flat wickets," he opined.
