IPL 2026 Auction: In every IPL mini auction, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has brought up a few surprise pacers. It's the same situation this year as well, and a lot of Indian fast bowlers have performed well to prove their worth in playing under pressure situations.
Let's take a look at three uncapped fast bowlers who might start a bidding war at the IPL 2026 mini auction.
Three SMAT bowlers who can trigger bidding wars
Auqib Nabi
This J&K fast bowler has taken 15 wickets after playing in seven matches at a staggering average of 13.26 and an economy rate of 7.41, which also includes figures of 4/16. He has the ability to swing the new ball, bowl a heavy length, and still dominate in death overs without conceding many runs. All those teams that are looking for an Indian pacer who can perform well both in powerplay and in death overs- CSK, MI, and RCB might break their banks for him as he is one of the low-based price players who can easily be bought for a maximum price of Rs 2-3 crore after lots of teams are involved.

Mukhtar Hussain
Hailing from Assam, Mukhtar Hussain is a like-for-like replacement for Nabi, who even bowls at a better economy rate. He has taken 15 wickets after playing in seven matches at an economy rate of 6.96, and he registered best figures of 6/20 and rattled Chattisgarh's batting lineup. He has the ability to bowl well in middle overs as he can bowl lengthy deliveries aiming at stumps. He has been in and out of the auction list and has never been bought by any team, but his brilliant performance in SMAT this year will give him an upper edge for teams like SRH and GT, who love including Indian seam depth to their side.
