UAE vs CAN T20 World Cup 2026: UAE's star pacer Junaid Siddique has scripted history as he has become the first UAE player to take a five-wicket haul in the ongoing match of the mega event. Hailing from Multan, Pakistan, Junaid had bowled 4 overs against Canada and had taken five wickets.
UAE's Karthik Meiyappan had registered the best bowling figures of 3/19. He achieved this milestone against Sri Lanka in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Junaid's five-for also made him just the second player from an associate team to have taken a five-wicket haul in this tournament.
Netherlands' Ahsan Malik had become the first player from an associate team to have taken a five-for. He achieved this feat against South Africa in the 2014 T20 World Cup, where he registered figures of 5/19.

Siddique, who is the highest wicket-taker in T20Is for the United Arab Emirates, opened his wicket account on Friday by dismissing Canada skipper Dilpreet Bajwa on the last ball of his first over of the match. UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem caught Bajwa after scoring 11 runs from 11 balls.
On the first ball of his second over, Junaid then removed Bajwa’s opening partner, Yuvraj Samra (5 runs from 5 balls). Samra was caught by Alishan Sharafu.
Junaid’s third wicket of the match came on the fourth ball of his third over in the form of Harsh Thaker. Thaker was caught by Mayank Kumar after scoring 50 runs from 41 balls.
Junaid then picked up the remaining two wickets in his fourth over. On the first ball, he got rid of Canada’s wicketkeeper Shreyas Movva, and on the fifth delivery, he picked up Saad Bin Zafar’s wicket.
