Updated WTC 2025-27 Points Table: Travis Head had smashed 123 runs off 83 balls and helped the team chase the target of 205 runs and win the match by eight wickets against England in the first Ashes Test match at Perth. He played as an opener instead of Usman Khawaja and brought up his ton off just 69 balls.

He had become the second Australian batter to be dismissed while chasing and had scored 117 runs off 92 balls along with Marnus Labuschagne.

In his knock, he had hit 16 sixes and 4 sixes for the host.

With this win, the Steve Smith-led side is not just leading the series by 1-0 but has also maintained their 100% win record in the 2025-27 WTC. The host have won all their 4 Test matches till now and have a PCT of 100%.

At the same time, the Ben Stokes-led side has lost three of their last six Test matches till now and has a PCT of 36.11%.. They are lying in the sixth position in the points table, and their PCT has dropped from 43.33 to 36.11.

Before Head grabbed everyone's attention with his batting prowess on Saturday, star pacer Mitchell Starc was the star performer. He took seven wickets on the first day and put the team in a commanding position, and then he took three wickets in the second innings.

Brendan Doggett, who was playing in his debut Test match, took three wickets, and Scott Boland registered figures of 4/33.

The second Ashes Test match will be held in Brisbane next month. It is going to be a day-night match, where the pink ball will be used.
