Updated WTC 2025-27 Points Table: India suffered yet another home Test series loss as South Africa defeated them by 408 runs. On the last day in Guwahati, while chasing a mammoth target of 549 runs, the host could score 140 runs in 63.5 overs. Simon Harmer was the pick among the bowlers as he took a six-for in the second innings, and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets.
Post losing two consecutive matches against South Africa, the Rishabh Pant-led side had slipped from fourth to fifth position in the WTC points table. They have a 48.15.
At the same time, the Temba Bavuma-led side has reclaimed its No.2 position in the points table. They have 75.00 PCT%.

Ravindra Jadeja was India's highest run-scorer in the 549-run chase as he had hit a fifty, as no other batter was able to score more than 20 runs.

This loss of 408 runs in Guwahati is the host's biggest loss in this format as far as run margin is concerned.
