India opener Shubman Gill got his form in the third ODI against West Indies after a series of low scores in the ongoing tour. The right-handed batter smashed 85 studded with 11 fours at Brian Lara Stadium as India thrashed the hosts by 200 runs to clinch the series 2-1.

Gill's knock was crucial for him as he struggled to find touch with the bat in the last four matches on the tour. The 23-old scored seven and 34 runs respectively in the first two ODIs while he scored six and 10 & 29* in the two-match Test series before the ODIs. With stiff competition for the opening slot with teammate Ishan Kishan, Gill called the innings 'very special' and said he is just trying to be the best version of himself.

"Very special for me, I was looking for a big score but unfortunately that didn't happen and I'm happy that we ended up on the winning side. It was a good (pitch), initially the ball was coming on nicely and as the ball got older it became tough to hit. In the last game, I was set and looking for a big one and tried to accelerate, you gotta keep putting the pressure on the opposition as that's how the ODI game have evolved recently. I just try to do my best and not think too much about who's playing or not," Gill said in the post-match presentation.
