Baroda vs Vidarbha, Vijay Hazare Trophy Updates: Hardik Pandya produced an outstanding effort with the bat in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 as he smashed a fiery century for Baroda against Vidarbha at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday. After being put into bat first, Baroda posted a massive total of 293/9 in their 50 overs.

Pandya completed his century in just 68 balls as he smashed the Vidarbha bowlers all around the ground. He brought up the milestone during the 39th over as he smashed Parth Rekhade for five sixes and a boundary to take out 34 runs from the over. This was Hardik's first century in List A cricket. India’s premier all-rounder came into bat when Baroda was reeling at 71 for five in the 20th over.

Coming to bat at number seven, Pandya took time and reached his half-century in just 44 balls. He soon shifted gears and scored the next 50 runs in 24 balls. The right-handed batter went on to play a memorable knock of 133 runs in 92 balls on the back of eight fours and 11 sixes. Apart from Hardik, no other batter managed to even hit a half-century, whereas skipper Krunal Pandya, who hit a century in the previous game, scored 23 runs against Vidarbha.

This is Pandya’s first game for Baroda in the 50-over tournament this season. The last time the 32-year-old played the format was in the Champions Trophy in March 2025. His magnificent century has come ahead of India's squad announcement for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand at home, which starts on January 11.

In total, Pandya has played 119 List A matches, including 94 ODIs for India, eight for India A, and 17 for Baroda. His previous best score was 92 not out against Australia in 2020 in Canberra. Overall, Pandya has scored over 2300 runs in List A cricket.

For Vidarbha, Yash Thakur was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets under his belt, whereas Nachiket Bhute and Parth Rekhade found a couple of scalps each.
