JE Sports Desk:  India will kick off their West Indies tour with a two-match Test series as both teams will lock horns in the first Test at Windsor Park in Dominica on July 12.

After landing in the Caribbean, the former India captain Virat Kohli has opened up on his great bond and friendship with Chris Gayle. The duo was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and shared some memorable moments during their Indian Premier League (IPL) days.

Virat said that he will be paying a visit to the Windies Legend Gayle in the Caribbean and also mentioned that the former West Indies captain invites the team to hang out when in his hometown of Jamaica.

“I have hung out with Chris for so many years. I am sure that when we are in Jamaica, we will definitely go and meet Chris. He always invites the team home to have a good time and just chill out," Kohli said.

West Indies players are known for their friendly nature and humility and Gayle is no different as Virat praised his incredible affection with the veteran.

“So I am sure he is going to do the same again if he is in town. Everyone loves him. We went last time as well to his place, we had a great time and he is such a humble guy. Definitely, if he is free and he is in town, sure we are going to catch up with him," said the 34-year-old.

The star batter also recalled his batting brilliance in the Caribbean having smashed his first double-century on a tour of the Windies and mentioned the gratitude he received while playing a memorable innings in front of the great Sir Vivian Richards.

Virat scored his first double century in Antigua after which he was congratulated by Vivian Richards.

“My favorite memory obviously is Antigua. I got my first-ever double hundred in Test cricket in Antigua in front of Sir Vivian Richards. That for me was a very, very special moment and then he met me in the evening as well and congratulated me. It can’t get any better than that," the former Indian skipper opined.
