Lucknow Police have arrested four people for allegedly selling fake IPL 2026 tickets outside the Ekana Stadium during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday.

According to reports, the group was part of an interstate gang that used artificial intelligence tools and graphic design software to make fake IPL tickets and sell them to cricket fans near the stadium gates.

The police action began after a fake ticket was found with a spectator during the match.

“Yesterday, during the IPL match between LSG and RCB at Ekana Stadium, a fake IPL ticket was found with a person," DCP (Lucknow South) Amit Kumar Anand told PTI.

“During questioning, it was revealed that someone outside the stadium had sold the ticket. Following this, the Cyber Cell Lucknow and the Sushant Golf City police team carried out an operation and arrested four accused. All of them are residents of Durg district in Chhattisgarh," he added.

Reports said the accused used platforms like ChatGPT along with editing and design software to copy the look of original IPL tickets before selling them illegally.

LSG vs RCB Clash

Meanwhile, the match itself turned out to be an exciting contest despite multiple rain interruptions. The game was delayed several times due to rain and was eventually reduced to 19 overs per side.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by nine runs through the DLS method. The win was especially important for LSG as it ended their six-match losing streak and also gave them their first home win of the season.

Mitchell Marsh played a brilliant innings and scored a quick century, while young pacer Prince Yadav impressed with the ball and played a key role in the victory.
