India star batter Virat Kohli's brother, Vikas Kohli rejected the rumours spreading about his mother Saroj Kohli's health after the cricketer opted out of the first two Test against England.
There were reports claiming Virat took the break due to his mother's illness but the former India captain's elder sibling said she is 'absolutely fine'.
Vikas took to Instagram and posted a story to give an update on his mother's health and wrote, “Hello everyone I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern.”
Virat Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests citing personal reasons days before the start of the first Test in Hyderabad India lost by 28 runs.
"The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series," the BCCI had said in a statement.

"The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli's privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series," it added.
England came from behind to lead the five-match 1-0 as they were trailing by 190 runs on their first innings total but Ollie Pope's 196-run knock while debutant Tom Hartley's 7-62 bowled out India for 202 in a chase of 231.
Virat Kohli is expected to return to India's squad for the last three Tests of the series. The second Test between India and England will be played in Visakhapatnam from Friday, February 2.
