India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav shared a heartwarming post for India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma, who got a stand named after him at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Friday. The MCA revealed the 'Rohit Sharma stand' at the Divecha pavilion, 3rd level, and it thus became a proud moment for the Indian skipper, who was there with his family.

Suryakumar Yadav took to his official social media account and was seen lauding Rohit Sharma for his incredible achievements in Indian cricket. “Good things happen to good people,” Suryakumar Yadav had written due to the honour Rohit had got.

"Congratulations @ImRo45 on achieving incredible things on the cricket ground, from finisher to opener to our captain. You have been an inspiration and our pride in every role... Very rarely comes a leader who leads from the front, and changes the game for the better. You are that leader who has changed not just the game, but the approach, the attitude, the dressing room atmosphere, the team, and redefined the role of a captain," Suryakumar Yadav had written on his official X account.

"Like I have said before, good things happen to good people, and you deserve it all and more. Wankhede just got even more iconic," he said.

The ceremony was held amidst the transition that the Indian cricket team underwent as Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the longest format, and just 11 months back, he retired from T20s after India had won the T20 World Cup last year. And that's why the event turned out to be a celebration of Rohit Sharma's contributions to Indian cricket, where Devendra Fadnavis, who is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar also attended the event.

Rohit, who is one of Mumbai's best cricketers, has helped the country lift two ICC trophies in the recent past- the 2025 T20 World Cup and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Ever since he made his debut way back in 2007, he has played for India in 159 T20Is, 273 ODIs, and 67 Tests.

At the event, Rohit was seen expressing his gratitude to his parents, wife, and brother for always supporting him in his career.
