Asia Cup 2025: The Men in Blue would be flying to the United Arab Emirates in September this year to participate in the Asia Cup 2025. During the upcoming continental tournament, they will lock horns with the host UAE in their tournament opener in Dubai and will then face arch-nemesis Pakistan during their second group stage match.
The Indian team last played against the Men in Green in the shortest format against the Men in Green in June 2024 in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The organisers of the Asia Cup 2025 are quite hopeful that the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be held in Dubai on September 14 as per the plan, even though there are political tensions between the two countries.
Although the Indian cricket fans have opined that they shouldn't face Pakistan and should pull out of the tournament, like the Indian champions did in the World Championship of Legends.
But as per Subhan Ahmed, who is the chief operating officer of the Emirates Cricket Board, has reckoned that a similar situation won't occur during the upcoming continental tournament.
“We can’t make any guarantees, but comparing the Asia Cup against a private event like the WCL is not a like comparison," Subhan told the National.

“When decisions to play in the Asia Cup are taken, government permissions are taken in advance. That has been done before deciding to announce the schedule for the countries. So hopefully we won’t be in a situation as there was at the WCL," he concluded.
During the Asia Cup 2025, both India and Pakistan might play against each other three times if they reach the summit clash.
