IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025: India will face arch-nemesis Pakistan during their Asia Cup match on Sunday. Both these teams have been playing against each other in the ACC and ICC events for the last 10 years, and the last time they played against each other in a continental tournament in the shortest format was back in 2022. This event was also held in 2023 in the 50-over format, where the Men in Blue had won the Super Four match, and the group stage match ended in a tie.
India won the thriller in the group stage clash vs Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022
These two teams looked different three years back, when Pakistan were skittled out for 147 runs during the group stage match in Dubai. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick among the Indian bowlers as he registered figures in the four overs that he bowled, where Hardik Pandya also took three wickets. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan took two wickets apiece since it was the first time that the Indian pacers had taken all 10 wickets.
While chasing the Indian team too suffered a batting collapse and were tottering at 53/3 in 9.1 overs, and at one point, it looked like they wouldn't chase this target. But Ravindra Jadeja held the innings from one end as Hardik Pandya scored the winning runs and took the team across the line. He had scored an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 17 balls as he had hit a six when they needed as many runs on the last three balls to win the match. He was also awarded the Player of the Match award for his all-round brilliance.

The Men in Green chased the target on the back of Mohammad Rizwan's 71-run innings. He was dismissed in the 17th over, but the team needed just 35 runs in the last three overs. Then they needed 26 runs in the last two overs, but Bhuvneshwar leaked 19 runs during the 19th over, and that's how Pakistan won the thrilling match with five wickets remaining.
