Most expensive Indian players in IPL 2025 Mega Auction: IPL 2025 mega auction witnessed historic action throughout the two days in Jeddah as the 10 franchises collectively spent a total of INR 639.15 crore.
A total of 182 players were bought at the mega auction by teams while 395 players remained unsold at the mega auction.
The minimum base price of a player at the IPL 2025 mega auction was INR 30 lakh while the maximum base price was INR 2 crore.
Lucknow Super Giants scripted history as they acquired Rishabh Pant for INR 27 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, making him the most expensive player in IPL history to date.
Earlier, Punjab Kings shelled out INR 26.75 crore for Shreyas Iyer, which saw him hold the record briefly.
Each team was allotted a total budget of INR 120 crore to build a squad of a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 25 players for IPL 2025. A maximum of eight overseas players were allowed in each team.

Rishabh Pant
Delhi Capitals released their skipper Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The star wicketkeeper-batter understandably attracted big money and went for the record money in Jeddah.
He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a record fee of INR 27 crore, making him the most expensive buy in IPL history.
Shreyas Iyer
Iyer impressed everyone after leading the Kolkata Knight Riders to the title win in the IPL 2024. However, he decided to try his value in the mega auction and was released by KKR.
Iyer is now a part of the Punjab Kings as the franchise bagged his services for a whopping amount of INR 26.75 crore.
Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer has been with KKR since 2021 but was released by them ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
The defending champions rewarded him big time and bought him again for a monumental amount of INR 23.75 crore.
Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh is now the fourth highest-paid Indian player in the IPL. He was retained by Punjab Kings for a price of INR 18 crore.
The star pacer has been with Punjab since 2019 and his value increased after becoming a part of India's title-winning campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Having been released by Rajasthan Royals after three seasons, Chahal is now the fifth most expensive Indian player in IPL and the most expensive Indian spinner.
He was bought by Punjab Kings for a massive price of INR 18 crore. Chahal is IPL's all-time leading wicket-taker with 205 wickets to his name in 160 matches.
