Women's T20 World Cup 2024, WI W vs SCO W: The West Indies women's team registered their first victory of the ongoing mega-event after defeating Scotland by six wickets in Dubai. They had a disastrous start to their campaign as they lost to South Africa by 10 wickets in their tournament opener but made a brilliant comeback by beating Scotland.
They will aim to continue their winning streak when they will lock horns with the Nigar Sultana-led side in their next match on Thursday. At the same time, Scotland would be gutted with the way they performed against West Indies, especially after they gave the Bangladesh women's team a tough time in their tournament opener.
Afy Fletcher keeps Scotland in check
While batting first, the Scottish openers Saskia Horley and Sarah Bryce fell cheaply. But then Kathryn and Alisa Lister helped the team bounce back by building a partnership of 46 runs for the third wicket. Kathryn scored 25 runs whereas Lister scored 26 but then spinner Afy Fletcher dismissed both the set batters and then she also got Priyanaz Chatterji out and registered figures of 4-0-22-3.

West Indies dictate terms
The Hayley Matthews-led side went all-guns-blazing right from the first ball. Although Matthews and Stefanie Taylor got out during the powerplay, they stitched a partnership of 46 runs to ensure that Scotland doesn't get the better of them. Qiana Joseph scored a match-winning knock of 31 runs off 18 balls, in which she hit three fours and a six.
Deandra Dottin, who was seen struggling against South Africa scored 28 runs off 15 balls in the match against Scotland. After showing her bowling prowess, Henry then made significant contributions with the bat as well as she scored a gritty knock of 18 runs off 10 balls. Oliva Bell was the pick among the Scotland bowlers as she took two wickets but ended up in the losing cause.
