WPL 2026: After the withdrawal of Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland from the upcoming edition of the Women's Premier League, Delhi Capitals announced the signing of leg-spinner Alana King as a replacement. Notably, Sutherland has made herself unavailable due to personal reasons.

King recently delivered one of the most incredible spells in Women’s Cricket World Cup history, achieving figures of 7/18 for Australia against South Africa. The 30-year-old has played in the Women’s Premier League, representing UP Warriorz, and has appeared in 27 T20Is, taking 27 wickets.

She most recently played for Perth Scorchers Women in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), where she took 12 wickets in 13 matches as the team finished as runners-up.

In 2023, Delhi Capitals became one of the five founding teams to participate in the Women’s Premier League. The team has reached the final in all three editions of the tournament so far, finishing as runners-up each time.

Sayali Satghare Replaces Ellyse Perry

The WPL announced in a release that Indian all-rounder Sayali Satgharewill join the RCB as a replacement for Perry, while Australian leg-spinner Alana King has been named by Delhi Capitals as the replacement for Sutherland.

“Australian all-rounders Ellyse Perry (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) and Annabel Sutherland (Delhi Capitals) have withdrawn from the upcoming edition of the league due to personal reasons,” WPL stated in a release.
