WPL 2026: There's always some drama at the WPL auction every year, along with surprises and big money signings. But the mega auction this year promises that it will be special, where all five franchises will get a chance to rebuild their teams from the beginning.
Since there are a lot of youngsters who have proven their worth and veterans who have been at their peak, these teams will keep a close look on Indian players who can become their core for the next few years.
A few players from the Women's World Cup-winning teams are the ones to watch out for.

Let's take a look at three Indian players who can start a bidding war in the WPL 2026 auction:
1. Pratika Rawal - India’s fast-rising opener
| Criterion | WODIs | Women's World Cup |
| Matches | 24 | 7 |
| Runs | 1110 | 308 |
| Average | 50.45 | 51.33 |
| Strike Rate | 82.83 | 77.77 |
| 50/100 | 2/7 | 1/1 |
Pratika Rawal's rise has been nothing short of brilliant. She began as a promising U19 performer to become a clutch player in big matches; she has shown maturity.
During the Women's World Cup, she had scored 308 runs at a staggering average of 51.33 till she was ruled out owing to an injury.
She will be the player to watch out for as teams like RCB and DC will be needing a reliable opener like her.

UP Warriorz might also break their bank for her. She does represent the new Indian team, which is bold and mentally tough.
2. Deepti Sharma - The leader every franchise wants in their core
| Criterion | WT20Is | WPL |
| Matches | 129 | 25 |
| Runs | 1100 | 507 |
| Wickets | 147 | 27 |
| Batting Average | 23.40 | 28.16 |
| Strike Rate | 104.26 | 117.63 |
| Bowling economy | 6.12 | 8.29 |
| 50/100 | 0/2 | 0/3 |
The mega auction usually puts the most on captaincy, and Deepti Sharma is the player whom the team would want their young team to lead.
She has taken 100 wickets in this format and has scored 1100 runs, and that is why she is one of the best all-rounders in the world.
She had been in sublime form this year. She was the highest wicket-getter in the mega event as she had taken 22 wickets and had scored 215 runs.
Teams like Gujarat Giants, who have been unstable, will be eyeing an all-rounder like her and might start a bidding war.
UP Warriorz, too, who had released her, will try to buy her back.
3. Shree Charani - The young bowling star
| Criterion | WT20Is | WPL |
| Matches | 5 | 2 |
| Wickets | 10 | 4 |
| Bowling average | 14.80 | 17.75 |
| Bowling economy | 7.46 | 8.87 |
She was one of the most exciting bowlers in the mega event. In WODIs, she had taken 23 wickets, and had taken 10 wickets in the shortest format. She had just played in two WPL matches where she took 4 wickets.
Her wicket-taking skills have made her so important. Teams like UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants, who have failed to have brilliant bowlers in their side in WPL, will start a bidding war for her.
MI, who are known for investing in youngsters, might also fight for her as a long-term star.
Known for her aggressive style, Shree Charani can be one of the most expensive Indian players at the mega auction.
