WPL 2026: RCB Become First Team To Seal Playoffs Spot, Beat Gujarat Giants By 61 Runs

RCB vs GG, WPL 2026: Riding on Gautami Naik's blistering knock of 73 runs and Sayali Satghare's three-wicket haul, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a convincing 61 runs win over Gujarat Giants in their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the BCA Stadium, Kotambi in Vadodara on Monday.

With the win over GG, RCB became the first team to seal a spot in the playoffs. RCB maintained their unbeaten streak, securing a fifth successive triumph and booking their playoff berth.

GG's chase got off to a wobbly start, with four wickets falling for 34 runs within the seventh over, setting the stage for a difficult day ahead.

GG's top order was pulverised, with Beth Mooney, Sophie Devine, Anushka Sharma, and Kanika Ahuja departing early. Kshvee Gautam and Georgia Wareham stitched to the misery, while skipper Ashleigh Gardner's 54 off 43 and Bharti Fulmali's 14 were late, leading to futile attempts to revive the innings.

Gardner's 54, marked by five boundaries and a maximum, wasn't enough to rescue GG, who were bundled out for 117 for 8. Sayali Satghare's celestial bowling claimed her 3/21, with Nadine de Klerk adding 2/17 to the mix, sealing RCB's convincing win.

Earlier, Gautami Naik struck a satisfactory half-century to take Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a respectable 178/6. Chasing a spot in the last four, RCB struggled early, losing Grace Harris and Georgia Voll within the first two overs at 9. Gautami Naik then guided the innings, guiding RCB to a respectable 178 for six.

Smriti Mandhana (26 off 23 balls) and Gautami Naik stitched up a crucial partnership, stitching together 60 runs for the third wicket to stabilise RCB's innings.

Naik and Richa Ghosh then formed a 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket to take RCB forward. Naik's persistent knock was eventually brought to an end in the 18th over, removed by Gardner. Radha Yadav's tumultuous 17 off 8 balls in the dying overs pushed RCB to a competitive total.
