WPL 2024 UP Warriorz Full Squad: The eagerly awaited Women's Premier League (WPL) auction for the upcoming second season kicked off in Mumbai on December 9. UP Warriorz (UPW) strategically prepared for the auction, retaining 13 players, including key talents Alyssa Healy, Sophie Ecclestone, Deepti Sharma, Tahlia McGrath, and Grace Harris.
Warriorz addressed their bowling and middle-order batting concerns in the auction, making a significant investment of INR 1.30 crore in emerging talent Vrinda Dinesh, along with signings Saima Thakor and Gouher Sultana. They also secured the services of Dani Wyatt for INR 30 lakh.
With a calculated approach, UPW had released only four players pre auction– Devika Vaidya, Shabnim Ismail, Shivali Shinde, and Simran Shaikh. The team showed promise in WPL 2023 but missed the final, finishing fourth with four wins and losses.

Before the auction UPW had a squad of 13 players, including 5 overseas players, with a total expenditure of INR 9.5 Cr. UPW had a salary cap of INR 4 Cr and 5 available slots, including 1 for overseas players.
With a decent purse of INR 1.9 Cr still remaining even after getting the required 18 players, UPW will be among the happiest franchises in the league.
