England vs India 5th Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal produced another impactful effort with the bat and helped India take the upper hand in the second Test during the fifth and final Test against England at the Kennington Oval on Saturday.

Jaiswal smashed his sixth Test century, second in the ongoing five-match series as India extended their lead on the third day. With a remarkable effort, Jaiswal scripted history as he went past the great Sachin Tendulkar in an elite list.

Jaiswal now has the most fifty plus scores by an Indian against England at the age of 23. This was Jaiswal's ninth 50-plus score in 19 innings against England, while Tendulkar finished his career with eight in 14. The 23-year-old scored his fourth Test hundred against England.

The left-handed batter has been one of India's most consistent batters in the past couple of years in Test cricket.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal has also scored 30 sixes against England in Tests. The record for most sixes against England in Tests is held by Rishabh Pant, who has 38 sixes to his name. The star opener Jaiswal went on to play an outstanding knock of 118 runs in 164 balls on the back of 14 fours and two sixes. He was dismissed by Josh Tongue in the 65th over.

Earlier on the third day, the pair of Jaiswal and nightwatchman Akash Deep frustrated the English bowlers and scored some quick runs in the morning session. While Jaiswal was heading closer to the three-figure mark, Akash Deep smashed his maiden Test fifty and the duo stitched a 107-run stand for the third wicket.
