Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took a safe route when asked about the asked to choose between batter Virat Kohli, legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni, and captain Rohit Sharma in a gleeful conversation during a podcast.

In a Club Prairie Fire podcast, the former India all-rounder was asked to choose to play, sell and bench in the context of IPL among India stars Kohli, Dhoni and Rohit.

Yuvraj picked Rohit to play as the India captain is a great combination of fine captaincy and explosive batter. However, he wittily sidestepped possible controversy by benching himself rather than taking the name of Kohli or MS Dhoni.

"As a player, I would go for Rohit Sharma if it's T20 cricket. He is an outstanding captain and someone who can change the game with his batting for sure, he will be my first choice," said Yuvraj on the Club Prairie Fire podcast.

"I would bench myself as naming one between Virat and Dhoni would be in the headlines. I don't want that to happen. We’re all smart enough, we know who needs to go on the bench but I’m going to stick to Rohit Sharma’s name," he added.

It is worth mentioning that MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are the most successful captains in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having guided their teams Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and (Mumbai Indians) MI, respectively, to five titles each. Notably, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter Dhoni led CSK to five IPL crowns in the years 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023.
