Zimbabwe men's cricket team vs Pakistan national cricket team match: 

Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 99 runs in the third and final ODI match at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Thursday.

Pakistan ended up winning the three-match ODI series 2-1 as they bowled Zimbabwe out for 204 runs in 40.1 overs while defending their massive total.

Faisal Akram took the final wicket of the match as he dismissed Richar Ngarava for 17 runs. He ended up with a bowling figure of 1/37.

Skipper Craig Ervine was the top run-getter for the home side as he played a 51-run knock in 63 deliveries on the back of five fours and a six.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe lost three wickets inside the powerplay as Joylord Gumbie (5), Tadiwanashe Marumani (24) and Dion Myers (4) departed cheaply.

Ervine tried to recover things with a promising partnership of 41 runs with Sean Williams before the latter was dismissed for 24 runs.

Brian Bennett and Clive Madande came up with promising contributions but weren't enough as Zimbabwe missed out on a promising opportunity to win a historic series.

For Pakistan, Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, and Aamer Jamal picked up two wickets each whereas Faisal and Kamran Ghulam found a scalp each as well.

After opting to bat first, the visitors Pakistan posted a huge total of 303/6 in their 50 overs on the back of a maiden ODI hundred from Kamran Ghulam.

Ghulam played a fine knock of 103 runs in 99 balls on the back of 10 fours and four sixes. Abdullah Shafique also played a crucial knock of 50 runs with the help of five fours and a six.

Kamran was adjudged as the Player of the Match whereas Saim Ayub won the Player of the Series award. He scored 155 runs in the three-match series.

Zimbabwe had won the first match by 80 runs by the DLS method in the rain-hit contest before Pakistan bounced back with a dominating 10-wicket victory in the second match.

This was Pakistan's second successive series win as they recently registered a historic ODI series victory in Australia.
