Delhi Air Pollution And Cold Wave: The national capital’s air quality remained in the very poor category with an AQI of 341 at 7 am on Wednesday, despite the revocation of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4) on Tuesday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). 

However, the Meteorological Department said Delhi may experience partly cloudy skies today, with light to moderate fog likely in the morning. Official data showed that 31 stations in Delhi recorded very poor air quality, crossing the 300 mark. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to be around 7 degrees Celsius.

Area-Wise AQI In Delhi-NCR 

Air quality remained in the very poor category across several parts of Delhi, with Alipur recording an AQI of 345, DTU at 350, and Shadipur at 329. Higher pollution levels were reported from Bawana and Mundka, both at 381, while Nehru Nagar recorded 380 and Pusa 372. Vivek Vihar registered an AQI of 375, and Jahangirpuri reported one of the highest levels at 397.

0-50: Good; minimal impact

51-100: Satisfactory; minor breathing discomfort to sensitive people

101-200: Moderate; breathing discomfort to people with lung, asthma, and heart diseases

201-300: Poor; breathing discomfort to most people on prolonged exposure

301-400: Very Poor; respiratory illness on prolonged exposure

401-500: Severe; affects healthy people and seriously impacts those with existing diseases

Delhi Weather Update 

1. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi over the past 24 hours was 7.2 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees below normal.

2. The maximum temperature stood at 25.7 degrees Celsius, which is 6.1 degrees above the average.

3. The India Meteorological Department has not issued any alerts for Wednesday.

4. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may drop to 7 degrees Celsius.

5. Moderate fog is likely, with no other weather warnings in place.

6. A slight rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected around January 23.
