A self-proclaimed saint, Swami ChaitanyananadSaraswati, is on the run after being accused of sexually harassing 17 girls at a private management institute in Delhi. The investigation has revealed that since the FIR was registered, he has withdrawn between Rs 5 million and Rs 5.5 million from bank accounts opened using fraudulent documents.
Police have launched a nationwide manhunt and have seized Rs 80 million belonging to Chaitanyananad, which was spread across 18 bank accounts and 28 fixed deposits. Investigators believe this money is linked to his trust. All of his debit and credit cards have also been blocked. Suspecting he may alter his appearance, police have prepared eight different sketches of possible disguises and circulated them to authorities in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha and Rajasthan.
The case also involves significant identity fraud. A search of Chaitanyananad's office and residence uncovered two passports—one in the name of Parthasarathy and the other as ChaitanyananadSaraswati—with different details for his father's name and birthplace. He also faces a separate case filed by Shri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, for alleged fraud, forgery and embezzlement of trust property worth Rs 10.

The investigation has revealed Chaitanyananad's alleged method for targeting victims. He reportedly instructed the institute to pass most students from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in scholarship exams. These students were then led to believe he was personally responsible for securing their scholarships, creating a sense of obligation.
In a statement to the police, one victim said she was granted a scholarship after initially being rejected and was then pressured to comply with Chaitanyananad's demands. When she resisted, she was threatened with the cancellation of her admission and the with holding of her documents.
